    The Law of the Jungle

Post by Talib Al_Munawri on Sat Feb 20, 2016 9:51 pm

An African fable illustrates the fierce competitive nature of business in today’s world. In the fable, a lion wakes up hungry in the morning on the veldt. If the lion wishes to eat (to survive), he must be faster than the antelope that is his prey. That same morning, the antelope wakes up and knows that if he wants to survive another day he must be faster than the hungry lion. Both are in a race for survival, and the race continues every morning that the lion and the antelope awaken. This is the law of the jungle. Quality is critical to the business world because the business world is a jungle every bit as red in tooth and claw as a real jungle. However, instead of the bodies of slain animals, the business world jungle is littered with the bodies of bankrupt, failed, or downsized companies. They were “slain” because they were unable to compete well enough to survive, much less become dominant players in their fields. At the heart of their failure was a lack of quality in their business systems.
